A North American importer of German high-performance vehicles was looking to substantially enhance its business management function and develop capabilities that were not available in their system at the time. The company was looking for more intensive analytics and agile reporting to help their corporate functions as well as their dealerships.
The company was looking for a flexible solution with features such as:
The company adopted
AMOS, Optimum Info’s business management system, which proved to be a flexible solution that consistently provided accurate dealer financial statement data.
Implementation of the system was a swift and efficient process. The Optimum team first worked on the single sign-on process and identifying the most important KPIs to the business. After implementing the system in five months, a series of virtual and in-person training sessions were provided. During the in-person training sessions, Optimum Info received valuable feedback from the client that was used to tailor the system more effectively to the company’s business strategies.
Features of the system or service that have stood out to the company include:
Empowering the Business Management Team
Broad reporting capabilities helped the company’s business management team immensely. This internal consultant group is tasked with developing action plans for the company’s underperforming dealers. Using the system, the group was able to download their own reports to present to dealers that showcased KPI data in an easy-to-understand format that highlights areas of opportunity.
Automating the Annual Business Plan
AMOS helped the company automate their annual business plan. Prior to having AMOS, the company had a manual process using an Excel file with over 40 tabs, which took one person several days to complete. Optimum Info worked with the company to create a template in the system that used over 20 monthly data feeds. Ultimately, the company saved time for their users and can provide their dealers with a monthly scorecard immediately after the financial statement submission.
Consistent Reporting Through Strengthened Data Mapping
With their previous vendor, the company had METIS codes attached to each account in the financial statements, which made the statement review process confusing for their dealers. Optimum helped the company move away from METIS by mapping the data with the same account codes, condensing the number of validations, and creating more meaningful categories. This made it easier for dealers to understand the data, resulting in a quicker turnaround time and improved accuracy for financial statement submissions.
Number of Data Validations Dropped By 32% Optimum Info not only provided a system to track dealer financial statement errors but also advised the company on how to improve data accuracy. The assigned Optimum account manager sent the company a monthly list of critical errors found and provided actionable recommendations for improvements. Within a year, the number of data validation triggers went down by 32%.
Optimum Info continues to work with the company on adapting and enhancing AMOS to support their Business Scorecards and other reports. The company also recently launched its battery electrical vehicles (BEV) and is looking to add more details to their dealer financial statements to collect after-sales data. Optimum Info is working closely with the company to launch this initiative in 2023 and will continue to support the company as their business evolves.
